This month we are doing things a little different. We are back at Jens Bang's place in Blanchard Id. On this page Jens will illustrate how he constructed the new curved turnout for the club's modular layout that's under construction. On the next page of the Gallery you will see Jen's new bridge that he constructed during this mild winter. And on the final page the rest of us are having fun running our trains and enjoying Jen's labors.

Jens first took some LGB track that matched our outer diameter of the curve and tacked it to a work table. Then he took some flex track and curved it to give us a 7" center to center spacing. This was used as a template to form the rails for the turnout. The frog was formed and guage checked. Then he constructed the point rails. The larger picture shows the turnout as it was just prior to soldering. This whole process took about three hours.
